Elyse is an enthusiastic instructor at Klarmond Farm in charge of the Young Rider’s Program. She is a graduate of Iowa State with a degree in Art. She willingly works with children from the age of 4 and up, preparing them for horse ownership and safety, safety, safety! Ground work is included in her curriculum as well as English and Western approaches to riding. Elyse is also an assistant trainer to Nan Funkhouser, owner of Klarmond Farm, helping her train young horses and rehabilitating problem horses. She teaches “Soft Feel” riding and gentle handling techniques to all who come to work with her.

Elyse is the proud owner of a new Trakehner stallion prospect out of the famous German stallion Hirtentanz. Alletanz will be her up and coming dressage horse and they will also pursue low level 3 Day Eventing.

Sophie Divney
Sophie teaches the youngest students at Klarmond. Ground work is included for 4 year old children on up with the lessons. Sophie has an extensive donkey background, and feels passionate about furthering the popularity and trainability of donkeys to the public. these wonderful versatile equines are an often-overlooked treasure! Sophie is currently helping a teenager start the wonderful mule Kawliga under saddle, and they are getting close to their first trip around the round pen!
